ABOUT AHMO
The purpose of this organization is to establish cooperative and constructive relationships among our members for the promotion of the general welfare of the Hispanic community. AHMO has continued to offer its members a unique forum where their interests, concerns, and problems can be shared and discussed.
Encourages the exchange of up-to-date information about trends affecting Hispanic city officials through meetings, reports, correspondence, and telephone calls. AHMO members also receive a quarterly newsletter.
Serves actively with the Texas Municipal League to represent and advance the views of the Hispanic community.
Provides opportunities for continued professional growth, self-development, and interaction with other professional peers through conventions, workshops, and seminars.
BENEFITS
Through its activities and services, AHMO officers and staff encourage and help all members to enhance, expand, and cultivate their professional abilities.
AHMO membership provides each member with an opportunity to receive, at significantly reduced prices, one subscription to the Texas Municipal League’s monthly magazine, Texas Town and City (Regular Price $30; AHMO Price $15), and/or one TML Directory of City Officials (Regular Price $60; AHMO Price $30).
AHMO Membership consists of three categories: Elected, Appointed, and Associate. Annual Membership Dues $50.00
Elected Official – Any Hispanic elected municipal official in Texas such as mayor, councilmember, alderperson, commissioner, and other municipal elected officials.
Appointed Official – Any Hispanic appointed municipal official in Texas such as city manager, city administrator, city attorney, city secretary, and other appointed officials.
Associate Membership – Individuals and organizations may be granted associate membership by the Executive Committee.
