Fixed-Rate Fuel Program
The Fixed-Rate Fuel Program by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) allows cities to secure a fixed rate for transportation fuel amidst the ever-changing cost of gasoline. Benefits of the program include:
- Reduced volatility in transportation fuel expenditures
- Fixed per-gallon cost for diesel and gasoline
- Effective and predictable budgeting for transporation fuels
- Reduced transportation fuel expenditures if the price of fuel increases during the term of the contract
- Benefits of large quantities from pooling usage with that of other local governments
- Negotiated contract terms and conditions
- Compliance with local and state bid statutes

Awarded Fuel Prices:
The TASB Energy Cooperative Board of Trustees has awarded the September 2011 Fuel Pool to Petroleum Traders, Inc.
The awarded fixed prices for the pool are:
Diesel - $2.9913 per gallon
Gasoline - $2.7946 per gallon
