Job Description: Using knowledge and skills attained through Master’s level education, this position provides library reference and readers’ advisory service to the public. Position may also be involved in the provision of programs, developing library collections and maintaining information on library activities. This position will provide administrative support and will interface with other City employees and the public. Assists library patrons by searching catalogs, computer files and print resources to locate information, assisting with computerized book searches, providing information from electronic databases and internet sources, assisting patrons on the use of electronic resources and providing referrals to other resources as needed.
Job Requirements: Masters degree-level of study (M.L.S., M.S) in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited university. Valid Texas Class C Drivers License. Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Allen - Library Services Manager (Children's)
Job Description: The purpose of this position is to organize and direct the operations of the Library’s Children’s services. This is accomplished by managing divisional operations, supervising employees, providing assistance to library patrons and evaluating and developing library collections. Other duties include providing administrative assistance, providing community outreach, assisting in administering the budget, maintaining professional development and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position provides direction to other employees and reports directly to the library director.
