TML Annual Conference and Exhibition

General Information

ANNUAL CONFERENCE LOCATION

The 2010 TML Annual Conference and Exhibition will be held at the American Bank Center, located at 1901 North Shoreline Boulevard in Corpus Christi. All events will be held at the convention center unless otherwise noted. The center’s telephone number is 361-826-4100.

DELEGATE REGISTRATION

The delegate registration fee includes access to all educational sessions (excluding ticketed events), the Wednesday Exhibit Hall Grand Opening, the exhibit hall, and the Thursday TML Risk Pools’ Breakfast (limited seating), as well as handout materials, a conference bag (provided by The Brick Industry – Southwest Region), a conference CD (provided by James Hardie), and refreshment breaks. TML is offering a $25 discount to delegates who register online at www.tml.org. If you register and pay online by September 23, the fee is $245—a savings of $50 (after that date, the online registration fee increases to $295). If you register by mail by September 23, the fee is $270 (this fee increases to $320 after September 23).

A one-day registration option is available to any TML member city official or TML associate member who would like to attend Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday activities only. The one-day registration fee is $150 if you register online and $175 if you register by mail. This fee includes access to all educational sessions, affiliate board and business meetings, handout materials, a conference bag, a conference CD, and the exhibit hall on the specified day. Please note that meal functions are not included in the one-day registration fee and must be purchased separately. However, those who register for Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday only cannot register for a ticketed event on a day for which they have not registered.

Lanyards, provided by Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, will be available to display your conference badge. Those who register for Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday only will receive a badge pre-printed with the preferred day identified.

Delegate registration will be open during the following hours:
Tuesday, October 26, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 27, 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 28, 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Friday, October 29, 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

EXHIBIT HALL

Nearly 300 vendors will be available at the 2010 Annual Conference and Exhibition to showcase solutions and goods specific to your daily tasks as a city official. Beginning at noon on Wednesday, October 27, you’ll find aisle after aisle of products, services, and equipment designed to ease the challenges of operating your city or town. Allow plenty of time to explore this one-stop shop that is the most comprehensive exhibition of products and services for the municipal marketplace.

GUEST PROGRAM

There is a guest registration fee of $35. A city official or employee cannot register as a guest. The guest registration fee includes admission to all TML educational sessions (excluding separate, ticketed events), the Wednesday Exhibit Hall Grand Opening, the exhibit hall on Wednesday through Friday, a conference bag, and a conference CD.

At the Guest Hospitality Center, you can relax, play board games, visit with friends, browse a variety of items from several vendors, and enjoy light refreshments. The center will be open on both Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

HANDOUTS FOR CONCURRENT SESSIONS

Speakers for concurrent sessions were asked to provide their handouts in electronic form to TML. Handouts will be posted to the TML Web site for you to download. If a handout is available prior to the conference and you would like a copy, please check the TML Web site at www.tml.org.

We encourage you to purchase tickets for the following events before September 23. Please indicate on the registration form which meal tickets you want to purchase.

Thursday, October 28—TML RISK POOLS’ BREAKFAST (ticketed event, NO CHARGE)

Scrambled eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, fresh fruit, buttermilk biscuits, breakfast pastries, orange juice, regular and decaffeinated coffee, and select teas

Thursday, October 28—DELEGATE LUNCHEON (ticketed event, $25)

Romaine and gorgonzola salad, pork loin glazed with sweet honey tarragon, roasted potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables, apple crisp, regular and decaffeinated coffee, and tea

Friday, October 29—WOMEN IN GOVERNMENT BREAKFAST (ticketed event, $20)

Scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, fresh fruit, breakfast pastries, orange juice, regular and decaffeinated coffee, and select teas

Friday, October 29—DELEGATE LUNCHEON (ticketed event, $25)

Tossed European field greens salad, grilled breast of chicken with charred tomatilla sauce, red skin mashed potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables, caramel flan, regular and decaffeinated coffee, and tea

SHUTTLE TRANSPORTATION

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, continuous shuttle transportation service will be provided from the official TML conference hotels to the American Bank Center. Service to the center will begin 30 minutes before the scheduled opening of registration and will end 30 minutes after the last scheduled session is completed each day. Please ask the hotel concierge for specific shuttle bus loading and unloading locations.

PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Conference hotels are currently providing complimentary parking. Please check with your confirmed hotel prior to arrival to verify this policy.

Parking near the convention center is limited. Surface parking at privately owned lots around the city or center may not allow in/out privileges, so please be sure to check with lot attendants for specific restrictions. Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, TML shuttle service will be provided for the conference hotels, so it is advisable to use the shuttle to travel to and from the convention center.
