Austin, Texas
The benefits of a healthy organization are evident in attitude,
productivity, and individual and organizational performance. By
committing to this workshop, your organization plays a crucial role
in supporting health and fitness initiatives that can change the
quality of life for employees and their families.
Austin Mayor Will Wynn

Mayor's Fitness Council
The Mayor's Fitness Council (MFC) of Austin was established in October 2004 by Mayor Will Wynn to raise awareness of the cost of health care, to promote prevention of chronic diseases and better health in Austin, and to promote the City of Austin as a healthy place to live and work.
The purpose of this summit is to provide attendees with health information and strategies to help implement active living principles in multiple sectors, which will lead to better health for all. At the conclusion of the meeting, attendees will be encouraged to join a statewide effort lead by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness to support and create healthy cities through the use of evidence-based practices.
Whether you want to promote a healthy lifestyle to your employees, your citizens, your school children, or even just yourself, the Active Texas Summit is the place to begin.
During this conference, you will receive:
- A preview of the Austin Fitness Index (AFI).
- An overview of the latest, cutting-edge strategies for health and fitness management.
- Tools and information on evidence- based practices.
