Join us on April 22-23 for a celebration of Earth Day and a special workshop!
Going Green
A Showcase of City Programs
April 22-23, 2010
Texas Municipal Center
1821 Rutherford Lane, Austin, Texas
This special workshop will be moderated by two individuals who have done extensive research on cities and their efforts to join the Green Movement. They will present a compelling case for leadership by cities in this area. Their timely and important message is presented with wit and understanding of the unique positions cities are in and how to achieve great impact by instituting practical and workable solutions to energy efficiency.
Jim Hunt is former mayor and current councilmember from Clarksburg, West Virginia; former president of the National League of Cities; and founder of the Amazing Cities organization. Mike Conduff is no stranger to many Texas city officials. He is a former city manager in a number of Texas cities and is Jim’s co-author of the book Bottom Line Green: How America’s Cities are Saving the Planet (And Money Too!).
Want to know more about LED lighting?
Ways to cut costs for your city vehicles?
How to get your citizens involved?
This workshop is for you!
The workshop will include ideas and suggestions that attendees can take home and implement immediately—ideas that will cut costs today and provide a cleaner environment for your citizens in the future. This is an investment in your city’s future and an investment that your city can be proud to make.
Who should attend?
Decision-makers and technical officials will find the workshop beneficial. Decision-makers (elected officials, city managers, and department heads) will learn what is possible. The technical audience will meet their counterparts from other cities and find ways to not re-invent the process. This is a great opportunity to learn what other cities have already done.
