Virtually every federal agency and hundreds of state and local governments are unlocking the power of Web-based and mobile technology to improve communication with citizens and with one another. This Webinar will define terms like “Web 2.0” and “Government 2.0,” as well as provide an overview of a few of the tools and technologies (for example, blogs, wikis, social networks,podcasts, mash-ups, etc.) and how they are being used to improve government.

Andrew Krzmarzick

This Webinar will be conducted by Andrew Krzmarzick, director of community engagement for GovLoop.com, the premier social network for people in and around government. Andrew is also the co-creator of IAmPublicService.org, a Web site and e-book project dedicated to improving the perception of public service and attracting the next generation of government talent. His work and insight have been featured in the Washington Post, The Public Manager and Government Executive magazines, the FEDManager E-Report, and on Federal News Radio.

Continuing Education Credit: Elected officials (mayors and councilmembers) can earn 1.8 Texas Municipal League Institute (TMLI) credits for participating in this Webinar. Registration: There is only one way to register: Register online below with credit card payment at www.tml.org. Payment and a valid e-mail address are required to register.

Registration Fee: The registration fee is $75. You must register by 5:00 p.m. (CST) on Friday, April 2. Registration will close after this time.

Confirmations: Participation instructions will be e-mailed approximately two weeks prior to the Webinar.

Cancellation and Substitution Policy: If you are registered and cannot join the Webinar, we encourage you to provide a substitute. A valid e-mail address for the substitute is required in advance. If you cannot provide a substitute, a $45 cancellation fee will be assessed if written cancellation is received by April 2. Please remember that no refunds will be honored after April 2.
