EPA SEEKS COMMENT ON FEDERAL CONTRUCTION EFFLUENT LIMIT GUIDELINES
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting public comments about technologies associated with measuring and controlling turbidity in storm water discharges from construction sites. The data collected will likely result in a newly proposed Effluent Limit Guideline for the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System Construction Stormwater Permit, which can, in turn, affect state guidelines.
The EPA is specifically seeking data and comments from interested parties on the effectiveness of technologies in controlling turbidity in discharges from construction sites and information on other related issues and passive treatment data already available to the EPA.
If this issue affects your city, you can submit comments by the March 5, 2012, deadline.
