ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE LAUNCHES ADDRESS CONFIDENTIALITY PROGRAM
In 2007, the Texas Legislature passed S.B. 74, a bill that created an “address confidentiality program” to be administered by the Texas attorney general. The bill is intended to protect the identity of victims of certain crimes. Victims of family violence, stalking, and sexual assault, if they are eligible for program, may register for an anonymous address that will appear on voter and school registration cards, driver’s licenses, and most government records.
