Nick Finan

Nick Finan is currently the Assistant City Manager for the City of Pearland, Texas. His current duties include oversight of Planning, Community Development, Municipal Court, Animal Control, and Public Affairs.

His wife, Kimberly, and he were married in 1987. They have two children: Alicyn, born in 1990, and Brenton, born in 1994. They live in League City, Texas. Nick likes to run, coach and being a dad and all that goes with it.

He is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where he received a Bachelors of Arts in Public Administration, Geography, and Political Science. He also has a Masters of Public Administration from Texas A&M University.

His work history includes an internship with the City of Missouri City, Texas, working with the city manager, planning department, finance department and other areas. He worked for the City of Lufkin, Texas, as City Planner and then Director of Planning/Administrative Assistant. In 1989, he worked in Amarillo, Texas, where he served as the Administrative Assistant in the City Manager’s Office. From 1991 to 1996, Nicholas served as the City Manager of La Marque, Texas, and from 1996 to 2002, served as the City Administrator for the City of League City. Nick has done municipal consulting services from 2002 to 2004 serving cities such as Rosenberg, Bellaire, and La Porte, Texas.

He has made presentations to various statewide groups on ethics in local government. He is past Chairman of the Texas City Management Association’s(TCMA) Ethics Committee. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). He stays active in the Texas City Management Association (TCMA) where he has served as regional president and has served on the statewide board for six years with one year as TCMA President. He, also, has served as President for both Kiwanis and Rotary in city’s that he has lived. He is currently a member of the American Planning Association.
