Randy Moravec

Randy Moravec is Director of Financial & Strategic Services for the Town of Addison and has been with the city since 1987. Previously, he was Asst. City Manager / Finance Director for the City of Kingsville and Administrative Assistant in the City of Corpus Christi's budget office. Mr. Moravec received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Southern Methodist University in 1975 and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from SMU. He is currently working on his PhD of Philosophy in Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Dallas.

He is vice-chairman for the Board of Directors for the Cities Aggregation Power Project and has actively worked with CAPP’s consultants over the past four years to resolve billing issues with various retail electric providers. He was a member of the Executive Board of the National Government Finance Officer’s Association and had served as Chairman of the GFOA’s Standing Committee for Governmental Budgeting and Management. Mr. Moravec was also a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board Financial Reporting Model Task Force. He has written several articles in professional journals and is a frequent speaker for GFOA, the Texas Municipal League, and the Southwest School of Government Finance at Texas Tech University.

He is married to Kerry and they are proud parents of three children, Matthew, who is attending Rice University to pursue his doctorate in electrical engineering, Kacie, who is in her first year of law school at the University of Houston, and Emily, who is a junior at Southern Methodist University pursuing an engineering degree in management information systems.
