Mike Perez
Mike R. Perez has served in local government for 30 years, and he has been the City Manager for the City of McAllen for the past fourteen years. Mike served the City of Harlingen for over 11 years, first as the Director of Planning, then as Assistant City Manager and from 1989-1992, as the City Manager. Prior to his career in Harlingen, Mike worked for the City of Mercedes as the Director of Finance, Assistant City Manager, and City Manager.
Mike received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, and he attended graduate school at North Texas State University in Denton.

- Past President of Our Lady of Sorrows School Board
- Past President of the Diocese of Brownsville Catholic School Board

- Current President of the Texas City Management Association
- Member of the International City/County Management Association
Mike is married to the former Diana Pena of Mission, Texas, and they have three children: Michael (28), Christina (22) and Marcus (20).
