Tom Yantis
Tom began his career with the City of Georgetown in March 1999 as the City's Information Technology Director. In October 2000, Tom was promoted to Assistant City Manager. His current responsibilities include the oversight of the departments of Planning and Development, Building Inspection, Parks & Recreation, Library, Tourism & Main Street, Information Technology and the Municipal Airport. Tom is also involved in: the implementation of the Downtown Master Plan, major new commercial development projects, affordable housing, and special studies including City facilities and the Williams Drive Gateway redevelopment plan. Tom also served as Interim City Manager from January to September 2002.
Prior to coming to the City of Georgetown, Tom was a consultant with KPMG and prior to that with Andersen Consulting. His consulting clients included the State of Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, and the United States Health Care Financing Administration.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and a Master of Science degree in Community & Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin. Tom is married to Mary Mitchem and they have two children, Sam and Lucy.
