ENFORCEMENT OF FTC IDENTITY THEFT RULES IS DELAYED AGAIN
The enforcement date of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules requiring cities to adopt identity theft programs (pursuant to the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions [FACT] Act of 2003) has been extended from November 1, 2009, to June 1, 2010. City officials should contact their city attorney or the TML Legal Department with any questions regarding adoption and implementation of a program.
