TML Names Legislator of the Month for April

Representative Linda Harper-Brown (R – Irving) is the TML Legislator of the Month for April 2013.  Representative Harper-Brown represents House District 105, which includes Irving and Grand Prairie.

First elected to the Texas House in 2002, Representative Harper-Brown currently serves as the chair of the Government Efficiency and Reform Committee, as well as the House Committee on Transportation. Prior to her election to the Texas House of Representatives, she served on the Irving City Council for five years.

Throughout her career, Representative Harper-Brown has been a champion for increased transparency and a tireless advocate for improving our transportation system.  Representative Harper-Brown filed H.B. 3646, which would allow local governments to post procurement notices on the Internet as a way to save taxpayer dollars and provide for increased transparency.

We hope municipal leaders across Texas, particularly those in Representative Harper-Brown’s district, express their appreciation to this outstanding leader.
