U.S. Supreme Court to Hear Several City-Related Cases
The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear cases affecting cities on controversial topics, such as legislative prayer and demonstrations near abortion clinics.
One of the Texas Municipal League’s partners (through TML’s participation in the National League of Cities) in advocating for cities at the Court is the State and Local Legal Center (SLLC). The SLLC files amicus curiae briefs in support of states and local governments at the Court and provides other assistance to cities in connection with litigation at the Court.
The center has prepared an easy-to-read, three-page summary of the city-related cases that are pending. To read the summary, click here.
